With a strong commitment to customer satisfaction and a focus on operational excellence, we are seeking a motivated and experienced Drayage Dispatcher to join our team in Savannah, GA. Job Summary: The Drayage Dispatcher will be responsible for coordinating and managing the daily drayage operations, ensuring timely and efficient movement of containers to and from ports, rail yards, and customer locations. This role requires excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and the capability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: Dispatch Operations: Schedule and dispatch drivers for container pick-ups and deliveries, ensuring optimal route planning and adherence to customer requirements. Communication: Maintain clear and constant communication with drivers and other stakeholders to provide updates, address issues, and ensure smooth operations. Load Planning: Coordinate with port and rail terminals to plan and prioritize container movements, minimizing delays and maximizing efficiency. Problem Solving: Quickly identify and resolve any operational issues, such as delays, equipment breakdowns, or changes in customer requirements. Documentation: Ensure all required documentation, such as shipping orders, bills of lading, and delivery receipts, are accurately completed and maintained. Compliance: Monitor and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies, including safety protocols and environmental standards. Reporting: Generate and analyze reports on key performance indicators (KPIs), operational metrics, and other relevant data to continuously improve service quality and efficiency. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in logistics, transportation, or related fields is a plus. Minimum of 2 years of experience in drayage dispatching or a similar role within the transportation or logistics industry. Strong knowledge of port and rail terminal operations, container logistics, and drayage processes. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with drivers, customers, and team members. Proficient in using dispatch software, GPS tracking systems, and other relevant technology. Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Problem-solving skills with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset. Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance requirements in the transportation industry. Perform other duties as assigned.
